Daniil Koshkarov, third-year OmSU student, shares his impressions about his study at the University of Latvia (2016/2017 AY). “Hi! It’s Daniil Koshkarov. I’m 20. I took part in Erasmus+ at 2017. I studied in Riga at the University of Latvia for the spring term. My profile at the OmSU is “History and Theory of International Relations”. In Riga I studied politics and languages. My Erasmus story started with passing some tests at my home university. After that we had to prepare the documents for our mobility. The most difficult thing for me was to gather all the documents necessary for obtaining the visa. I have never done something like this before. It was the first serious experience in my life. However, the coordinators from the UL always helped me during the process of preparing for the Erasmus mobility. In Riga I lived in a good dormitory wh ere I found a lot of new friends. The practice of English was one of the important aims for me during the process of studying at the University of Latvia. I liked the UL as it is very modern and can offer you a lot of interesting things. This experience was first in my life but it helped me to find myself and understand what I want. I was really impressed by Latvia, the University and people I met there. Based on my own experience, I would like to say that every future Erasmus+ student should be open for new and probably unusual experience, be ready to accept people from many different countries and cultures as well as be more communicative. He or she should spend a lot of time in international sphere and communicate with foreigners. This experience depends on a person. If you are active and sociable then be sure that it will be one of the best periods in your life!” |
