Isabell in Russia

When I went to the Student Exchange Office in Kielce, I was sure I want to go to study in Omsk. I have friends in Omsk who invited me. And now it is my second time in Russia. I was here last year. I took part in Polish-Russian project.  I have never thought that I would go there again. I am here and I am very pleased that I have decided to come here. Coming here I have changed everything: country, language, surrounding, school, currency. I am feeling good with this. I think I could live abroad in the future. You know, everything is new and excited. I spent here more than 4 months. I visit a lot of places in Omsk. I have here my favourite shops, street and places. I can do a lot of things by myself.

I had an opportunity to visit beautiful Moscow and amazing Saint-Petersburg which is now my favourite city in the world. Russia is admirable country which is worth to see. I have not seen everything what I wanted that is why I know I want to back.  I met great, kind people from  Turkey, Mongolia, South Korea, China, Kazakhstan, Slovakia, Germany, Spain, USA, Canada, Brazil, Argentina. Wow! We have contact through the social media and I know when I want to go to these countries I can write to them and we can meet each other. We spent a lot of time together talking about our homelands. Thanks to this I am more open-minded to other people and cultures differences. At the University I mainly had lessons in Russian thanks to what I had great occasion to learn language and now I know it is more similar to Polish than I have known before. I took part in the conference on which I had my speech. I presented myself in Russian, English and Polish and I won the first place. It was the first conference in my life and here it was foreign conference.

At the beginning of May me and my friends were in the capital city of Kazakhstan. If I did not go there I would never say that it is such a nice place with rich buildings. Most of all I liked Astana at night. We were there in early May and we wore winter clothes because it was freezing and the snow was snowing! (In Omsk the snow was in mid-May and I wore winter clothes till the end of May, brrrr- in these times I missed a lot for “Polish weather)

It is of course not everything what I did in Russia. Last year, coming to Omsk, it was my first time travelling by plane. I went two times by Trans-Siberian Railway, I swam in a canoe on the Irtysh River. I visited Jekaterynburg.

I was there the only one from Poland under Erasmus+ programme. And I coped with everything. I can`t believe only three weeks left. I did here a lot of great things which I will remember whole my life. What is more, now I know I want to come here one day.
